Wifey needs a laptop

Looking to buy a new laptop for my wife, she is a school teacher so something durable with some decent storage space would be best, also we have a newborn so some video/picture editing will probably be done with it. The last laptop she had was a HP and we had lots of problems with it so we wont be getting one od those again.My budget is 500 to 700$ I was looking at some from costco.ca they have a couple i5 and 3 acres but I'm not sure if their overpriced.
