In the top portion of my start menu (left half, top half) my outlook icon has been changed by the malicious program of IconPackager and despite repeadtely uninstalling it, telling it to restore my default my icon back to what they were (this happened a 2 months ago) it never restored my outlook icon. I don't know why it even changed it in the first place, but it's annoying... the outlook icons in the program itself are fine, just this "special" shortcut in the start menu that's screwed up... anyway i've been trying to find what exactly the icon that's still there in the place of the outlook is, and where it is, but i can't track it down sicne the shortcut is a "special" one and doesn't bring up normal shortcut properties... I wanted to find the icon so that I could search for it in the registry and find where it is, so that i could change the outlook icon back... well, i tried doing some manual searching, and found a reference to the outlook "default icon", but it was at it's correct outlook icon... so, I'm baffled, can anyone help? Maybe how i can figure out what icon is being used, and where it's stored (file) and where a registry entry might be for this? Thanks...

Hey,

try installing and running spybot. It's free and it may get rid of the registry change caused by that malicious program. Here is a link:

If it doesn't work then I suggest keeping the program (spybot) anyway. Its a very good adware, spybot, malware, etc program.

Good luck
