When I try to log into my user account in WinXP (I’m an
administrator), it logs me into a newly created account (I didn’t
create it, the computer did).
For example, my user account name is JandJ, and my computer’s name
is LOVEMACHINE.
When I attempt to log into JandJ (as usual), I get logged into
JandJ.LOVEMACHINE instead.
So, my desktop doesn’t have my personal settings, my firefox browser
isn’t personalized, and I can’t log into many applications. Some
applications (Word, Excel, Media Player...) begin installation if I
try to open them. But, I never uninstalled them.
So, here’s some more background on when this all started:
Today, I put a couple new sticks of RAM into my machine and booted up.
I got all kinds of error messages when I tried to log in, and it
logged me into this new account instead. I had a shortage of space on
my C drive too. I logged out, and tried to get back into my old user
account, but even if I log in under the correct name and password, it
directs me into this newly created account.
Any helps out there? TIA!
