Whenever I choose to save a file with the save-as dialog, CHANGE THE DEFAULT
FOLDER and click save, the program (or explorer, not sure) will hang or crash.

One example I have is saving an image with IE6 is I'll navigate from my
pictures (default) to desktop and it will hang for about 20 seconds or more
before eventually saving the image.

I have duplicated these symptoms with a .txt document and notepad.

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type: SFC /SCANNOW
