You may wish to visit the Phillips support web site
and see which name brand CD-RW discs they recommend
for use with their drives. You may have to download a
firmware update.

You need to install a third-party CD recording program
for your DVD + - Drive. Windows XP cannot natively
record to a DVD +- Drive as it can a CD-R/CD-RW drive.
Did you get a CD/DVD recording program when you
purchased your DVD + - Drive?

My new pc (Compaq XPsp2) came with "Sonic Record Now" on it, and I wasn't
familiar with it (my old millennium had adaptec on it which was not user
friendly IMO), and I had to go through a learning curve on getting old files
from my old computer and making recovery discs for the new one, etc.).
Check start/programs to see if you have it, or some other program
similar...Pete
