I am looking at two possible "on the road" gaming machines. One has a 32mb on board graphics card the other has intergrated AGP graphics where I can allocate up 64 mb of RAM to graphics (I plan on getting at least 256 so it should be a problem and at least a PIII 850). Which is better: a stand alone graphics card or allocating it from RAM? and Why? This is going to be a laptop system.

If it's got memory on-board, it'll be faster. But you'll only use it if there's a good gpu in there, otherwise it won't be able to handle the larger textures.
