I also noticed the last Space Duel on eBay "sold" for $360 in
"awesome" condition from a dealler. Even had a 30 day warranty.
Machine was recently checked out by a tech, monitor has a nice crisp
picture, awesome sideart & control panel.
If a dealler can sell for that on eBay, i'd certainly think I could do
better than what i've found around here with in the 100 or so. If
anything, eBay prices should be higher.
I would have bought that if it were around here, but I can't afford an
extra $200 to have a machine shipped.

So, before we had greedy sellers pointing at freak high ebay prices
to justify the value/price of their games...
Is this the beginning of cheap-ass buyers pointing at freak *LOW* ebay
prices to justify what they want to pay?
(Yes, I have 3 space duels, no, I won't sell you one for less that I
could get for the working monitor alone)

Honestly..... You'll see a lot of low prices due to the multi games
releases. Multi Games killed the video market. No one wants several
machines anymore if they could have one that plays a bunch of games. I
think you'll see vid prices coming down even more in the up and coming
months. For the collector, that's awsome! However, for the re-seller, I
think it's time to pick another hobby or spend more time with your
kids.

Before we had sellers on this newsgroup pointing to the prices on eBay
and saying, wow those are redicuously high "eBay prices", buy from me.
I can sell cheaper because eBay charges a fee, and i'd rather not
spend money to list a machine that may not sell. If someone offers me
a reasonable price, i'll take it. It made sense. Naturely you can
afford to sell something cheaper if you don't have someone else
selling it for you, taking part of the profits.
For several years, people have used eBay as a way to measure value of
games. Generally games not sold on eBay have been sold cheaper,
because of the reasons stated above.
Now it seems the prices are often cheaper on eBay, so i'm pointing
them out. Why should I pay megabucks for a Space Duel or Asteroids
when they can easily be found in excellent shape much cheaper on eBay?
I don't buy this "regional pricing" thing. If a game's worth $400 in
CA, you can bet it's worth about the same in the northeast, the
midwest or where ever.
The last 3 or 4 machines i've bought were from eBay, at decent prices,
local, and for the most part not listed on this newsgroup where
recently prices from several sellers exceed eBay prices.
I certainly can't say all sellers on here fit that profile, because
there are still many that sell machines well below eBay also.

I am a mult williams owner myself (clays kit, full phoenix art kit) and
proud of it!

A dealler near me that I know very well also told me prices on games
are going way down. Now if I can only find the machines I want at
"reasonable" prices. Again, i'm not so much looking for the deal of a
lifetime, but rather just a decent deal like I seem to find almost
daily in other parts of the country.
Personally I think the reason the prices are going down has more to do
with other factors then muli-games. Multigames have been around for a
long time, but i'm sure they have also affected prices too.
I think the reason is because of the Internet & eBay, most collectors
have been able to find what they wanted by now and already bought
them. Information on how to repair machines is wide-spread online, so
a lot of machines that were dead have been fixed. So the market is
flooded with machines. Supply & demand.
I think most agree prices are headed down, so now is the time to sell
before they are hardly worth anything, like my Star Wars collection.
Should have sold it while it was still worth something. If it's not
something you really want to hold on to for yourself, take what you
can get now before it's worth less.

No.
A game that's worth $500 to me, is worth $500 if it's local, and it's worth
$300 if it's in Nebraska, and I have to pay $200 to ship it.
Seeing a game that sells for $300 because of the shipping cost, and
expecting to turn around and get one for $300 locally is a bit of
wishful thinking.
