Best Gaming Laptop under $1000?

Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing a laptop in which I intend to game on. I'm simply wondering the best laptop $1000 and under. I want to play games like Skyrim, Fallout, and Cod on the go.

Must have:
- Good Brand (Acer, Asus, Dell, MSI)
- Quiet and efficient cooling
- At least 15'' screen
- Dedicated Video Graphics
- At least 500GB Hard Drive
- 4GB Memory

Thanks for your help and I'd really appreciate your feedback!

You wanted a good "brand" but most brands don't actually "make" a laptop.

The vast majority of laptops on the market are manufactured by a small handful of Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), although their production bases are located mostly in mainland China. Major relationships include:

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu and NEC
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and HP/Compaq
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to Dell, Acer, Lenovo and HP
Inventec sells to Toshiba, HP and Lenovo
Pegatron sells to Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Dell and Acer
Foxconn sells to Asus, Dell, HP and Apple
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP
Clevo was the supplier to Alienware pre-Dell purchase and still supplies the chassis and major parts to boutique builders such as Sager, WidowPC, Falcon Northwest etc.

I'd opt for the Asus or Clevo

Three months ago I purchased the Y580 with these specs:

3rd generation Intel Core i7-3630QM processor
Genuine Windows 8
15.6” display ,16:9 widescreen
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 2GB graphics
8GB DDR3 memory,
750GB +64GB SSD HDD storage
Integrated Bluetooth
high-speed 802.11n Wi-Fi
USB2.0
USB3.0 connectors
Backlit Keyboard
Integrated DVD Drive
Integrated 1.0M (720p HD) webcam
Dolby Home Theatre V4 audio enhancement & JBL designed speakers
HD graphics support

Boots up in less than 30 seconds. The construction appears to be solid. I like the feel of the keys. No offensive bloatware pre-installed. Plenty of bells and whistles. Skyrim and MW3 run beautifully with high+ settings.
My only complaint is that the wireless adapter has been hobbled by Lenovo to prevent connection to 5Ghz (2.4Ghz only).
The price on amazin is $999 now, Be worth buying.

I have compiled list of most powerful gaming laptop you can get for under $1000 and it's even reach beyond your expectation specs. There's even a laptop worth even $799 if you wish to save more in that list I provided. All of them mostly 3rd generation i7 processor with 8 GB RAM and pretty decent graphic card which can play dead space 3 at ultra setting and crysis 3 at medium setting and even high for some of them. I hate win8. Tried it today and it was like trying to get out from under a wet parachute. Have you tried Linux? if so what are your thoughts?
