my computer would go to the black screen with the Windows XP Home edition and
the loading bar but soon after would change to a blue screen for a split
second, can't read anything because its too fast then goes to a black screen
that tells me that there was an error then gives the five different options
to boot in: safe mode, safe mode with networking, safemode with something,
last known good config, or normal config. all reboot the computer but then go
through the same process and end with that screen again with the 5 choices,
so I tried the XP disk out, went to the recovery part and then ran check
disk, got to 75% and then said there was some unrecoverable error, then I ran
fixboot and that told me that something was corrupt and then it tried to fix
but yet again unfixable. also now when i turn the computer on it asks for the
cd and won't even try booting and then going to screen with the 5 options to
boot since i put the cd in. Is formatting my only option? thanks Pat

Hi again,
I can't go to any links because the computer can't get into windows,
separate computer from this one. I was in the restore mode with the cd and
tried to chkdsk and fixboot but both resulted in telling me there was an
unrecoverable error so is there any way else besides actually being in
windows?
