I've been looking for the last few days for a PCI card that
holds large amounts of DIMMs. I have found memory buffer
cards, memory daughter cards and others, but they all have
integrated memory. The only one that was field upgradeable
supported 512k SIMMs for the Amiga 500.

Pricewatch has 512MB PC133 selling for $30. Imagine a 8GB
or 16GB DIMM drive with a sustained throughput of 133MB/s
or even 1066 MB/s (PCI-X). I saw one MBC that had integrated
batteries allowing up to 60 hrs of memory retention.

Flame not, lest ye be flamed.
