OK I got Windows Me from a friend not knowing that it requires Win 98 setup files to install. It's an original CD so don't worry, but I don't have 98 and have no other way of getting it so how would I bypass this part of the setup. Is it possible to download the required files from somewhere and save them to a HD ?

It's the ME upgrade disk for people who already have 98 installed. Since ME is a worse OS than 98 Second Edition, if you can find a 98SE CD I'd use that and pass on the ME.
