HP Pavilion g6-2240sm buy or not?

Hey guys,

My question is: Would this laptop be able to run new games such as Far Cry 3, AC3 etc?

Yes and no. The GPU could probably handle low to medium settings, but the 5400 rpm HD would end up bottlenecking the whole works. I'd look for a 7200rpm drive or a solid state drive.
