Dumb AGP question (slot key)

System: Dell Dimension 8100 1.7GHz P4, GeForce2 MX.

I was trying to troubleshoot a new flat panel display by swapping out the video card and trying a different card to see if I could solve my ghosting problem. Whoops, I've been out of the loop for too long; my AGP slot is keyed to not accept my old TNT card (nor an even older Aztech AGP card). What's the key for? Is it for AGP Pro cards and to make sure older AGP cards are excluded?

I searched around a bit in the archives and that's my guess, though the AGP Pro article didn't have a picture of what the AGP Pro slot ought to look like.

Thanks for any insight!

It should fit fine! Where is this "key" at? The front of the slot (the back of the board), or the back of the slot (the fron of the board), or somewhere in the middle?
