I have an MSI S6000. A few days ago, the WiFi stopped working. In Windows, device manager says the (mini pci-e) card itself is working fine, however, it's like the power to the card is off. On this particular laptop, there is no hardware switch that I can find (and I looked quite thoroughly), and the owner's manual PDF only talks about using the Fn+F8 key combo to enable or disable the WiFi.
All of the other Fn key combos work and produce on-screen indicators (webcam, brightness, volume, etc), but when I press Fn+F8, nothing appears to happen.
I should also add that this laptop is no longer under warranty.
I posted a thread about it on the MSI user to user support forum, but that discussion ended with no solution. Take a look here.
