Erm - I have just ordered an OEM version of the Radeon 64mb. I know the OEM 6.0 memory where as the retail has 5.5. Will the extra 0.5 smallness make the framerat ethat different? I play FPS's. Cheers. Btw, what does OEM mean/stand for?

The OEM comes clocked at 166/166MHz, the retail at 183/183MHz. Since ATI uses REAL clock rate instead of the DDR rate, that interprets to a DDR memory rate of 333 for the OEM and 366 for the Retail. YOu can use a tweak utility to gain the extra speed, simply overclock to 183/183, it should work fine.
But your OVERCLOCKING ability is limmited. The Retail should easily overclock to 200/200. There is also a newer version of the retail with 5ns memory, which can handle 225/225 or more, provided you can keep the graphics chip cool (may require a better cooler).
IF you can get your hands on retail BIOS for your card, overclocking manually will no longer be necessary, because the driver looks at BIOS to determine clock rate.
BTW, I am looking for the Retail Radeon 64MB VIVO bios. If you can find a source for it, let me know.

Cheers yet again Crash - will do. As to the teaking utility
(with the OEM - i am getting it cos it was under 100 and its in the post) - im not too keen on overclocking - so if I tweak it this is not overclocking? and wont need any cooling or anything? and would this be the same if i found a bios source code for the retail version?

Well, yes, you would be overclocking, but at a rate which should have little affect on stability. The graphics chip itself is made to run at the higher speed, but the memory is not. But since ATI clocks the memory at the same speed as the graphics chip, what you are buying is a card with an UNDERclocked graphics chip. In order to raise it to it's standard clock, you have to OVERclock the memory. Which is not bad, 183 is not a push for 6ns memory. Check www.rage3d.com for available clock programs.

Maybe this one then...
