Hey guys, I just got my Asus V8200, with the Smart Doctor that it comes with, my chipset temperature is around 127/53, and my memory temperature is 102/39, and that is without any overclocking. It seems abnormally high compare to my CPU temp, which is around 40-42C at 1.33Ghz, no overclocking.

What do you guys think? What's the normal temperature of a GF3 card? And what should I do to keep it down?

i think that the geforce is supposed to run hot but not quite that hot... my gf2 is cool in comparison but then again ive got some nice cooling... it runs at below 40... but i think that thats not too bad a temperature... is that temperature under load... like after running 3dmark2001 or just in windows?

you do not strengthen the weak by weakening the strong

53C is not significant. You can take steps to cool it even further however. Like, remove the heatsink fan and take that glue crap off the chip and replace it with arctic silver. Or, you can do what I did- i bought a bigger heatsink and put a pentium fan on the heatsink- runs a lot cooler now.

But, 53C will not hurt it. Be careful in overclocking though.
