Does anyone know of a good video capture card to use with Win2k? I have a 3dfx 3500TV which works just fine as a 2d/3d graphics card but routinely crashes win2k when capturing video. The 3dfx win2k drivers are beta and it doesn't seem to likely to see a WHQL version...
If you don't mind downgrading to Win98, I'd personally recommend the Rage Fury Pro. Yeah, it's got a geriatric
3D chip (Rage 128 Pro), but I've done almost 1 year's worth of video capture work with it via Premiere and ATi's bundled video capture software, with clips ranging from a few seconds to 2 minutes+ at 720x480x29.97 (DV-NTSC quality).
PS. you sure V3 3500 has vivo? I thought it only did Svid out?
3500 was the model with the onboard tv tuner with input and output. I heard the mpeg compression quality wasn't too brilliant. I have a wintv-pvr which records at full motion full size pal (768x576) in mpeg2. The quality again isn't crystal, but its far better than video tape quality. I don't do a lot with it though.

Think I'll have to check my info again.... I KNOW V3 3K
had Svid out, and I never really read up on the 3500.
Don't it suck www.3dfx.com still exists yet does nothing?!?!?!?!!?!
IF and when I do, I'm getting my Radeon in; let's see how good it does this 'realtime MPG encoding' And I have to
verify it's AVI capture capabilities
