can any one help Thanks
I'm in a little bit of a hurry here, so if I don't explain something good enough, let me know:
Boot from the XP cd. When you get to the screen where it asks where to install to, click on the unpartitioned space on your HD. Follow the directions to create a partition, and then format the partition however you want (NTFS, FAT). Just be careful that it's not C:. After the format is completed, cancel and exit the installation. Reboot. I always configure my partitions during the install, but, this is how I would do it if I needed too.

Your arrogance is boring!
It sounds like you let Windows create one large partition when you installed it (the default behaviour).
I'd suggest some sort of partition manager like Partition Magic, but since you've only just got the computer it might be easier to simply delete the partitions and start from scratch.
Boot from your XP CD, and when it asks you if you want to set up partitions, say yes. Delete all existing partitions, then set the C: partition to whatever size you want. You can leave the rest of the space unallocated for now, then when you finish installing, go the the Disk Management console you already tried, and you'll have two sections, C: and unallocated space. Once here you can follow the instructions in the help file.
Thanks for all your replys. XP WOULD not alould me to delete
in setup. So I will buy partition magic. I saw my mistake,When installed the first I did not click advance set
up. again thanks
You might not need to shell out for Partition Magic, you should be able to boot to a command line console from the XP disc; choose the Recovery Console, and when it loads (takes a minute or two), run the XP partition program, called Diskpart if I recall correctly. You'll delete all your data, but it'll save you a bit of cash.
