There is a registry entry that you can make that will pass through AC3/DTS for the Radeon 64 DVD player. This was presented to the Rage3d.com community by an ATI represenitive. I do believe it works for most people but others have problems with it. I know other programs such as WinDVD2000 and PowerDVD 3.0 can pass through AC3/DTS signals but the DVD quality is not as good as the ATI player. Between the other two WinDVD2000 seems to have better quality then PowerDVD. I use the ATI DVD player solely on my Radeon. WinDVD2000 for my MX400.

Well to eat your C   kie and have it too, gotta get Rade  n II

You do have to have a SPDIF output on your card for this feature to work, plus the file.

If it works for you then don't fix it.

Great. Thanks all for the response. My sound card is a sound blaster live value with a digital out. MY dvd player is (or will be soon) PC-DVD Ovation 12X. I gotta figure out how all these stuff will be hooked up together... But I think that between all these, I should be set.

If you are sending the signal to a Dolby Digital Receiver, you will have to get the miniplug to optical adaptor at http://www.soundblaster.com/accessories/cables/ The mini plug will only allow you to plug in their Dolby Digital theater setup.

If it works for you then don't fix it.
