After upgrading to XP SP2 I ran into some problems. One of them
affected the Dialup Networking. When I tried to setup a new dialup
connection I got an error message saying that the program could not
write to the phonebook. Further tries gave me the error number: 624.
When I Googled it I got a helpful tip at Modemsite but it did not
solve my problem.
There were two rasphone.pbk files on my computer. One in the Ras
folder and the other in Documents and Settings. Until I made both of
them not "Read Only" was I able to make new Dialup connections and
store them. SP2 must have changed the file characteristic, is my best
guess.
Hope this helps other folks out there.
