I have problem with IE6 SP2 that drives me crazy.
When loading pages with several images, the page is rendered with texts and
flash contents, but GIF/JPEG images doesn't become visible/loaded for about
a minute after the text and the flash contents is visible.
The IE progressbar shows a message that there is item remaining to be
loaded.
This problem started after the latest Windows Update (2 weeks ago) and I
have tried uninstalling Symantec Antivirus 2005 and disabled Microsoft
AntiSpyware but I still have the same problem.
The text on the website and any Macromedia flash (?!?!?) graphics load fast
and I can scroll the page but the IE window renders trash when scrolling.
I have a 12Mbit Internet connection so this is no "it takes time to load
images"
I also have MSN toolbar installed, but I doubt that that's the problem.
I have tried the following without any positive results:
- Uninstall Norton Antivirus 2005 (No viruses was found before)
- Disable Microsoft Antispyware (No spyware could be found before)
- Restored all IE security settings to the lowest
- Runned "sfc /scannow"
- Unintsall Macromedia Flash 7
I'm getting tired of this.. anyone have anything else I can try?
I don't want to reinstall WinXP to get this fixed.
Also, I can't reinstall or repair IE since I already have the latest version
according to Windows Update.
Another thing is that Firefox (that has been installed on the same system
for over a year) works fine and loads all images fast so there is definetly
something with IE here. Just don't know what?!
