Hey guys, could anyone give me a quick rundown of the reliability of Hercules Prophet cards?? And also what technology they are based on? I've noticed that Hercules make KyroII and GeforceMx cards, does anyone know about their reliablility?
Also, does anyone know anything about the 3D Prophet 4500XT 32Mb???

Quick Answer? Hmmm....
Hercueles cards are all "reliable". The KyroII chip needs more tweaking than the geforce 2 mx. The kyro 4000 is a slower version of the kyroII with less RAM. I suggest you read Tom's reviews on both cards. *too lazy to provide link*.

Cheers. I've done a bit more research on them and they definitely seem like a respectable card. But should I go for a 64mb MX or the KyroII 32mb card. Here in Australia they are similarly priced.

Yeah its definitely out. I have a crappy system. K6-2 300. Planning to buy a new case, motherboard, cpu, and memory soon. Just wasn't sure on what graphics card to get. The 64mbGeforce2MX and 32mb Hercules Prophet are similarly priced.......but why? Is the prophet similar to the 64mb Geforce2?

For the k6-2 system, I'd go with an MX. But if you plan to use the graphics card for your new system with a CPU 800MHz+, The KyroII could scale better than the MX.

Sh!t Happens.
