Hi folks,

How does an AMD Athlon XP-M 3000+ compare to an Intel Pentium M 1.4 GHz?

I am in the market for a mid-range notebook. Long battery life and low weight are strong considerations, but so is performance/price.

The P-M 1.4GHz will consume a fair bit less power, but it is also a bit less powerful in terms of performance. Performance/price, I believe the AMD is superior.

The closest comparable P-M would be the 1.5GHz in terms of performance, and the 1.7GHz in terms of power drain.
