Similarities between Forums and The Culture

There's a similarity i've spotted that made me smile between the the Culture of Iain Banks and Forums, specificallyt the similarities between the minds of the culture and forum members. In that there will be forum members who drift off, and are lurking the background but will suddenly reappear when needed. mods=SC, there are some hegmonising swarms out there, ...

Anyway, I've just read Surface detail, loved it, probably one of my favourites after excession, definately more accessible than some of his books, and well worth trying as a first approach into the Culture universe, and if you've read the rest then this is also a dammn good read.

Culture corner.
