I recently downloaded Microangelo's latest icon program for a trial, but I found it unsuitable and uninstall it. After this is done almost all (about 90%) of the icons in the program files became corrupted and were changed into a default plain icon. I tried changing the affected icons by right clicking and selecting properties but although the icons could be seen the change could not be effected. Is there any way of reinstalling/recovering the icons without going through the process of uninstalling/reinstalling the programs? Help please anybody!!!

Thank you for the help and suggestion Toey. I tried deleting the iconcache and Microsoft's resolution but it does not help. I even downloaded TweakUI in the hope that the repair tab might be able to resolve it, but again the problem still persists. Any other solutions or ideas?

You might have to reinstall the program in order to fix the icons:

Following your advice, I reinstall Microangelo and guess what? all the icons returned to its original state. Many thanks Toey.
