.... or are they the same thing?

just bought a new camcorder... trying to hook it up to the computer...
trying to use USB2.0 but it fails to recognize... weird... instead of
scrambling and trying to figure why, i thought i would just go ahead and
upgrade to the quicker upload speed... the manual says i need an iLink
card... when i google it, they should be either EtherNet cards or FireWire
cards...

any help would be appreciated....

The correct term would be IEEE1394 which is also known as firewire, or in
Sony speak, iLink. If the store shows you Ethernet cards again, walk out
and find another store where they have some knowledge of what they are
talking about.
