Hp Scanner problem

I have an HP scanner, and when scanning a document in, it allows you to pick the size of the saved image (i usually save in jpeg format). That's all fine and dandy until it saves it to an image file that is over 4 times larger than the standard 8.5 x 11 paper. I have the newest version of software from the HP website. Anyone have any similar problems?

I have heard of that, if I recall correctly it depends on what you save it as, scan a document as that, not a b&w photo, that lets the ocr software assign a font to the doc too, I think that if you save it as a picture then it saves it as a huge size
