start cmd command problem , please help

Yes , it is an internal program, but in an none updated version of
windows it works, the problem is that I have a program that uses start
command directly, and now this program dosnt work in an updated windows
XP version,
Somebody knows hot to configure the uses of the built-in commands or
something similar.
