hi,

I've got a sony laptop bought new in 4/2002. and came with xp-home.
Recently i had to clean/format and install xp-home again.

When i try to activate, online fails (no reason given)...so i went to
telephone activation.

i'm using the poduct key (printed on a MS holograph label affixed on
the laptop bottom and the product id generated on-screen.

after mucho talking to an MS automated phone system...it just
says...cannot activate "goodbye"

what the hell is this...nobody to talk to???

any help would be appreciated

thks

bob

At some point in the "automated phone system" there was an option to talk to
a real person.
Try again and the person on the other end should help.
