this card comes with 32/64megs of 5.5ns ram and is clocked at 200/366. the older version came with 5ns ram clocked at 200/400. now i need to know what the maximum theoretical speed in mhz the ram can be clocked to with 5.5ns.

atm my tnt2 pro is dying cause i clocked the ram too high (i forgot that the card was already running in turbo mode via a jumper) so i basically killed the ram. i DEFINATELY dont want to do the same mistake with this card, but i do want to acheive the 400mhz ram. cause to me, leadtek made a dumb move to rate their ram slower :(

btw does any1 know why they did that? nvidia ask them to?

You should be safe at 400mhz with that card using the winfox utility I got mine up from 366 to 400mhz.

My 5.5ns ram on my Radeon can clock up to 210mhz before artifacting is observable. 5.5ns ram is rated at 1.83mhz. 5ns - 200mhz.

I just bought a MSI geforce 2 pro card with 64mb ddr ram. I has tv out and they go for $130 now on pricewatch. The memory runs at 400, core at 200 right out of the box.

I know just enough to be dangerous.

My leadtek GTS came with 5.5 ns RAM... it's been running with the memory at 380-390 for 8 months without a hitch. It goes up just to 400 stable, but not beyond it. So you should probably be able to hit around 400 and keep it stable as long as your case is well ventilated and the heat doesn't build up around your card.

But sure to use an artifact tester when overclocking your card to test for maximum speed without tearing or dropping pixels.

I recommend the GainWard GF2 Pro, supposenly they come with 4.5ns ram meaning it will be rated for 225mhz. Typical of GainWard very high quality in their cards.

they dont sell (or i havent seen any) gainwards in australia :(

where can i get that artifact tester program from?

also i was thinking of sticking ram sinks on the ram seeming the pros dont come with any, which is a shame. but do u guys think it'll increase stability and worth the effort and cash?

<font color=blue>Now I am second guessing putting my aftermarket hs back on my replacement gf2 pro after Toms article on the msi gf3 having more oc ability w/o the hs due to interfernce bands or something.

I know crash is always banging on people's heads about oc your ram first - then your proc because the ram is the real bottleneck, but does anyone have documented proof that the hs helped them on the ram? I recall that oc'd 256's were often unstable w/o hs, but I am talking specifically the gf2 pro (or GTS or Ultra). Anybody?
