1. What is your budget?

Anywhere up to about $600-$650.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

15.6", will go down to a 14"

3. What screen resolution do you want?

average (1366x768) ish

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

I need to be semi-portable (I'm pretty strong...)

5. How much battery life do you need?

Reasonable, 2-3 hours minimum.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

I want to be able to play Source games, Minecraft, and maybe some BF2. Low-Medium.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

Video/audio editing... Homework.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

~500GB, I have a 2TB external. (need USB3.0)

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

www.tigerdirect.com

www.costco.com

any major retailer that offers an at least 1 year warranty for free. Newegg does not (to my knowledge), for the record.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

I'm hoping through the rest of high school (2yrs)

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

DVD/CD reader/writer.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

I would prefer not to buy an Acer as I have had trouble with their wifi cards in the past.

13. What country do you live in?

USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

MUST have a VGA/RGB (same thing) port as I use a secondary screen.

I would like it to have a dedicated graphics card.

I don't want to have an external video card for the second screen, that's what I'm using now and the framerate is horrid.

I would prefer a third gen intel i5 or i7.

Thank you, anyone who replies, because I cannot find a deal as good as this from another manufacturer.

For your budget, a deal for the Acer Aspire V3-571G-6407 http://wuggee.com/laptop/acer-aspire-v3-571g-6407.html is hard to beat. However, I also recommend you check out the Lenovo U510 http://wuggee.com/laptop/lenovo-u510.html which has more RAM, is considerably lighter in weight and comes with SSD. Its really a steal for the price you are getting it for.

I'm liking the Aspire V3-blah, wsx... I would prefer the $699.99 model though, it has a better processor. The U510 doesn't seem to have a VGA port so it won't suit my needs...

That seems to be an insanely compact... it's a 2nd gen, but it is still an insane laptop. It's over my budget though... (it was $729 when I first saw it, it has gone up since)

Bump.
