IE6 Block sender

I just configured ie6 on a network and received a email from a friend.It was blocked,spent 2 hr. inthe help section
to unblock it still can't get it done.
It say point to messenger service and click on privacy tab
there is none. Put his name in contact pane and 2 click no good. Try MS but they want $35.00 as I have a OEM VER.
Can any one help Thanks

If an email is blocked, you should check with your email provider to see what spam filtering methods are being used. Are you using Hotmail? If so, add your friend to your address book and change the filtering settings to allow people from there (at the least).

I don't use Hotmail, so I'm not sure how it works now.
