I have a Dell PC and Toshiba laptop both running XP Pro with the latest
service paks. They are networked, along with a Ximeta Netdisk. I recently
tried to look at shared files on the laptop from the PC by clicking on
Network Places. This produced an error message "a 'hex address' referenced
memory at 'hex address' memory could not be read". Each time the hexidecimal
addresses referenced are different, and Network places never opens. After a
few attempts the system locks up and needs to be restarted.
No devices show errors in device manager, and the laptop can see files on
the Dell. What can be causing this?
