how to recover data from main drive

Hi guys,

my desktop system has been down and i couldnt figure out what went wrong so now i have a laptop, i was wondering if there is a way to recover my data under my C drive from my desktop. I'll need an enclosure but i was wondering if it is possible to access data on that drive or all is lost? Thanks
