I have a very old pc with an ati 4 meg all in wonder... That's right a 4 meg... cost me a lot too... but anyway that's in the past... and that's really the only quality i saw of a tv out... i think todays cards must be more advanced, have better quality right?

My old one only supports 640x480

It's really hard to read normal text... almost impossible...

But i really enjoy playing LIERO on it... it's a freeware dos game... P.S. it's in my old pentium 100

Anyway can you tell me what resolutions are supported by geforce3/upcoming radeon (if anyone has the info).. cause one of these will be my next card...

And is it possible/not strainful for your eyes to type/read text on it...

Thnx

The highest resolution avialable to a TV is 800x600, and is blurry enough to make reading text very difficult-that's the limmitation of TV.

That sucks so bad... they have caption for deaf people looking so sharp crisp and easy to read it's a shame you can't do that with pc.... oh well i'll just have to get one of those huge 50 inch plasma screens that have vga input....

I better start saving up now :(

It's just that the font size for closed captioning is HUGE, like twice as large as the desktop characters at 640x480. You can change the fonts in display properties if you like. Or get HDTV to clear things up a little. Or get a 31" 800x600 monitor for around $500 refurbished and use a TV-Tuner card or VCR for the television features.
