ive got a leadtek winfast geforce2pro 32mb
running at the moment at stock 200/400.

allthough motherboard monitor cannot see its temps,
sandra can and reports a board/core temp
the thing at idle the board temp is 56C and the core 48C.

is the board temp measuring the ddr ram temp?
or is it backwards?

also... when i run a game the 56C soon rises and evens off at 65-66.
and ive been having some lockups lately... would this be a problem?

i do suspect the card as its happening in a 3d game serious sam... however just before this happens my screen ALWAYS blanks out for a second. not the usual behavior of a graphics card overheating.
soon as i can ill try to install the update for sam again as i WAS running the game ALL afternoon without any glitches what so ever (except dying alot) lol.
it seems only after i reinstalled its doing it.

hmmmmms
game or card.
p.s. lockup occasionally happens with sound cycling and most often with thin rectanges of corrupted graphics.
P.P.S. left both sides off my case just in case and it still locked up just as quick.

Maybe the FSB / AGP bus speed is too high? PSU problems?
I know you were running a high FSB at one stage....

Just a thought!

well i applied the right patch... and it seems to be working. maybe it WAS just a glitch with the game's programming. odd that it would do that though.
did a partial windowz reinstall... helped a little, but i think ill do a mammoth reinstall just to be happy.

I have the same card.. it runs HOT I sent one back to leadtek cause it would get over 74 C playing games the one I have now runs at like 58c in 3d games with some spikes higher ... if you ahve a leadtek you should have a hardware monitor just for the card in the Winfast utilities

I would warn you that the tech support I got in this matter SUCKED in general.. they shipped the wrong replacement card to me TWICE !!! and both of these were older 6.0 ns models and one was even physically damaged.. both were used and probably returns from previous problems..(my card was brand new!!) it took over 2 months to get the issue resolved and I will say that in the original case it was a gts that was overheating and after yelling and getting really pissed off a couple of times with them they sent me a new pro and a letter of apology...I would look for a 5.0 ns model at this point (leadtek is 5.5) and look at visiontek or gainward. In all when I buy my next card it won't be a leadtek Just my experiences and opinions and I can say that the pro, while still being hot in my opinion , gets close to 3k in mark 2001 at default clocks on my 800eb o\c'd to 876 and 512 cl2 ram

hmmm, thx for the info. BTW, if u check the leadtek website, the real pro is indeed 5ns memory. There was ( dunno if still around), enchance GTS this one use 5.5ns memory, but dunno y they also called it pro. And, the enchance one, the hsf is really small, compare to the real pro. Now I'm really reconsidering my choice. too bad, i thought i have found a good pro with a reasonable price.

Thx

well i fixed my problems by reinstalling the serious sam patch. wierd how that went funny.

also i finally cleared up the ongoing problems i has having with openGL 32bit graphics corruption.

all that it needed was a complete win2k re-instillation from the ground up LOL

but i had to do one anyways. too many little things were fubar.
