Oki, uhm a friend of mine owes me a card, and he can fix either a Kyro II or an MX400 card for me, that's the 2 cards I have to choose from.. What to choose? I have heard both good and bad stuff about the Kyro, especially about it's IQ and that it has lots of issues to be solved.. But on the other hand, from what I understand, it outruns the MX400 in most situations.. What's the advantages / disadvantages of getting it instead of the 400? they both have tvout and stuff.. and the kyro is the 64MB version, dunno about the MX card, but I assume it's 32.. I won't be upgrading the rest of the comp for quite some time, so I wanna get it right hehe. :-) And regarding the MX400.. is it much better than the regular MX? otherwise it looks like Kyro is the better choice... I've heard about the Kyro having issues in Operation Flashpoint and Tribes 2, is this correct?

My comp:

T-bird 900
CT-7AJA MOBO
128MB PC100

More about : kyro mx400

The Kyro II is faster than the MX400. But the MX400 has fewer problems than the Kyro II. So you have to choose between a faster but less reliable card and a slower but will-play -all-the-games w/out a problem card. Also Kyro II depends on the cpu speed and has the great performance at 1GHz Tb and above whereas the MX400 does not have that cpu scaling. Operational flashpoint is doing great with my Kyro II (hercules 4500), at least in my comp. Some other games have problems like f1 racing championship, tribes 2 (i havent played it but i read everywhere that it has unusually low fps) and the divx playback is a total disaster. If i were you i would go with a mx400 with DDR and if possible the 128bit (or mx400 are only 64bit? dont know).
The mx is slower than the mx400 and the mx200 is the slowest of the mx cards.

Hope i helped

Thanks for the nfo man, I still haven't decided yet, but at least I'm getting more and more nfo about both cards :-) I gotta decide this week though, so I'm running short on time hehe.
