I have just completed assembling my second PC. It has a 800mHz Duon CPU, MSI 6330 ver 3.0 MB, 256 megs of RAM and an Abit gForce 2 MX200 32 meg video accelerator card. The system has no problems except when gaming. After about 30 plus minutes of MS Combat Flight Simulator, the machine gun sound becomes static and the display starts to become gray & white instead of color. The CPU has two fans on the heat sink and the MSI software reports 40 C at the time of the game's beginning of degradation. The room temp is 30 C. The case has two fans as well, on induced draft and one forced draft. The GPU on the video card has a passive heatsink, which is on the "down" side of the AGP card, away from the outlet air stream. Are my game problems heat related and are they caused by the CPU or the GPU? All the latest MSI drivers are installed. The latest NVIDIA drivers have yet to be installed. Would a fan on the passive heatsink eliminate the problem?

These things do run hot sometimes, and I always recommend a fan on the passive heatsink. It could also be warm video ram, the fan might help that as well (by creating air movement in the surrounding area).
