Don't kill me here.... I see all these people with GF cards or Radeons with envy eyes...

And I'm stuck with a 3dfx 3500 Tv, which is not performing as it said on the box...

I have the RC1 driver installed, and the frame rate is around 25fps in Counterstrike.....

My computer is a K6-2 400 w/256mb PC100, and I want to upgrade my computer to around 1.2GHz. I wonder if that could at least boost the fps to 60s'....... Anyone can help me? Whether the CPU upgrade will work, or do I just need to get one of those 3rd party drivers? Also, as for the 3rd party drivers, I don't know if the TV function would work with it, which the TV was the reason that I bought this card...

If you are talking about WinXP RC1, then I'd say you are in luck. I have the same video card and I installed the Win2k drivers which u can get from windrivers.com easily. It might say some crap like that these drivers aren't meant for this hardware, but it works excellent. Overall performance increases in everything including games. Framerates definitely increase. You can also use your TV out functions as well.
Hope this helps.

Dude,
Don't let them tell you that your card is slow. A voodoo3 3500 is a fast card. I used to use a V3 2000 and still do in one of my machines. It is fast enough, 60+ fps. Now I use a V5 5500. If I were you I would use the wickedGL driver. It increases performance and visual quality. The full version is $8, but you can download a trial to check it out. I don't think it will affect your TV out because it is an OpenGL mini driver only. The downside is that it only improves on OpenGL games, but it is the best driver I've ever found for voodoo based cards. www.wicked3d.com

uhhh I did say on a K6-2 400MHz... not 500MHz... hehe ;)

yeah ok I guess you're right... but you're talking about a 200$ video card... instead of being happy of your 60fps in Q3 (which is 3 years old, btw), you should be crying that you're ONLY getting that kind of framerates with this type of video card... no?

but I guess it's good for a K6-2...
