Everytime I have more than one internet window open, whether it's a website
or pop-up, and try to close one, they all close. I sometimes get an error
message saying 0x00000054 cannot be 'read'. Can anyone tell me how to fix
this? Thankyou

Take good precautions because the "memory cannot be read" (or a close variant) points to possible bad RAM memory or other hardware related issue. Insure you do not have bad, marginal, or flaky RAM memory chips. Likewise, insure you have good/steady electric power & no hardware problems.

Also, have good pc ventilation & adequate cooling. Beware overheating.
If you suspect a heating problem, first be sure there is sufficient space all around the pc case for air circulation. Be sure there is nothing blocking any air intake slots. Take a look at the power supply fan (usually in back of the pc case) to be sure it is not blocked with dust & gunk, and that it is turning when power is on.

Take a look at the system's Event Log:
Select Start button/ select Run , then type in

eventvwr.msc<enter>
-- or Go to Control Panel / Performance and Maintenance/Administrative Tools >Event Viewer.

Review the sections and look for Errors or Warnings that match the time the event occurred. Double click---the information "may" give a clue.

Run a RAM memory test. MEMTEST86 is one such utility.
See http://www.memtest86.com/

Running a memory test is very highly advised in this case. As is deleting/clearing your Temporary internet cache files, and using Disk Cleanup.
But test RAM first ! Insure RAM is ok before doing anything else.
