Tron game play question

Ok, so my Tron is working thanks to Chuk of course for the machine(s) and
also getting a new spinner board out to me. I've been playing it all
friggin day, so now my next question on it is in the spider stage.....has
anyone killed every spider before the timer expired???
Also, in the listing of points the last item I believe is BIT.
What stage and when does this Bit show up???? Just wondering cause I've
never seen him.

No, you cannot kill every grid bug(spider) on that stage. The amount of bugs
is almost always the same, the more you kill the more the game keeps
spawning.

The BIT ocassionally shows up on the "spider" stage. It generally doesnt
appear until after the 3 or 4th round, so if you cant play TRON very far
that might be part of the reason why you are never seeing the BIT.

You can kill all the spiders. I can usually do it during the first 3
levels, after that they spawn to quickly. You can get more points if
you don't kill them all though. Just get near the entry area, keep
shooting them untill the timer is almost expired. If you do shoot them
all, you are pulled into the 'hole'. What's that supposed to be,
anyway? An I/O tower?

I do know this: If you enter the I/O tower during the bug stage when the
timer hits 0099 EXACTLY, you'll hear the "beam up" sound as well as the
timer beeping. If it's any less than 99, you'll only get the "beam up"
sound.

Another fun one... when you get to the level 4 or 5 tanks, they are
recognizers instead of tanks.

The recognizers move faster than tanks, but they don't shoot.

Recognizers don't go into dead ends, so you can safely get into the top
right dead-end and camp there forever. I usually have to kill like 3
of the recognizers to get into there though.

After 10 (11?) minutes, one of the counters on the sound board
overflows, and the audio breaks into a descending tone.
breeewwwwwwwoooooooooowwwwwwwww... This happens every 10 or so minutes
until all 6 audio channels are dead.

Once you move to the next level by killing all of the recogs, the sound
board resets and all is well again.

Do any of you guys use the freeplay rom hack?

For me, it causes the game to randomly restart upon game over. It
seems to happen more often when the score table is full.

I hadn't when I owned one, primarily because I had heard that it did
that kind of thing
