GeForce2 MX Resolution Problems

Hi,
I just bought a GeForce 2 MX, but the problem is that I can't change the resolution. Yes, I'm stuck in the hell of 640x480. I've tried the Detonator drivers on nVidias homepage, as well as the 14.70 and 12.90 ones.

Its possible your OS is detecting your monitor wrong. Make sure your monitor supports the higher res (most likely does) then see what monitor your OS detected. More than likte like it detected as a wrong model or a generic VGA monitor. Reinstall it, and if possible see if you monitor manufactorer has the drivers availble for it on thier web site.

I had the exact same problem with my MX400 (now sitting on the shelf) with the 6.50 drivers. It refused to detect my monitor and all I ended up with when going to a higher resolution was one big scolling screen. Anyways when I updated the drivers to 12:20 all was fine, it detected my monitor and everything was MX400 happy. The 12:41 drivers was buggy on my MX400 the 12:90 drivers where slower. Download the 20 or 30 driver sets available for your MX and start plugging away. I recommend the 1200 series as your first choice in trying to find a driver set that works good.
