I have installed two GeForce AGP cards in my HP one by one….(MX400 and Pro) and both cards caused same strange behaviour of windows “start” button and start menu.

Basicaly my start button is getting corrupted, it looks very strange, like a texture from windows wallpaper is applied or so…additionaly start menu gets corrupted as well on the left side where the "windows 98" logo supposed to be. After restart everything gets back to normal until I play a game or even open a display contol panel…I am getting desperate, I have exchanged the video card and installed updated drivers, set BIOS for AGP, all that...

Any idea what is causing this strange behaviour? Help....

My specs: HP 8575C: P3 550, 266 ram, 60+20G HDD, dvd, cd-rw, etc, no overclocking or tweaking.

I'm having the same problem with my geforce 2 mx 200. Never had the problem with my voodoo 3. I'm using the det 4 drivers 14.71 and have used some earlier drivers with same problems. here is my specs:
800 Duron
128SDRAM
ASUS A7V-E
2#20 gigs WD (5400+7200)
Windows 98SE/Mandrake 8.0
17"1024*768@32
Latest drivers (VIA 4n1, detonator 4 14.71)
Any replies would be welcome.

The 14.xx series of drivers are NOT the det 4 series, just thought I would let you know.
