Acer laptop won't recognise bootable usb

Hi there,

I just bought an Acer Aspire S5 391. Now I need to reinstall windows 7 from my USB flash drive. I know the USB works as I have successfully used in on another laptop.

The laptop doesnt seem to recognise the USB. USB HDD is set as number one in boot bios. I enabled the F12 boot menu, and when booting the USB doesnt appear in that menu either.

Another funny thing is that my friend is trying to put windows 7 on another acer laptop and he has the same problem. Is this an Acer thing with certain laptops of theirs, or certain USB's?

Would it being a USB 3.0 port have anything to do with it?

Have you tried to reset the bios already?
