Short?

Hello,
When changing out the screen on a HP pavilion g6 series I forgot to take battery out, and I think I shorted out the power??? Power button will not light up, do get a power light wear it plugs in. What might I have shorted out?

Hi

Just about anything..we always remove batteries and drain cmos before we start...you will have to test the lot now...

I'm with you on this one, I've done that before. It has probably shorted something on the motherboard and, in most cases, there will not be a visible (burnt) spot on the board to identify where the short occurred. For this reason, if your under warranty, it may be fixed by the manufacturer. Otherwise, you'll need to replace the motherboard or use an external monitor.
