Can't find file save under MS Works

I can't search files that are saved by MS Works. I enter a text/phrase in
the file but couldn't find files that content such text/phrase. I don't have
such problem with my previous Windows ME search feature but all my XP
computers failed to achieve such search. Apparently, text/phrase that are
saved under WORDS file could be found. Can anyone help me solve this
problem? Or it's a system error of Windows XP? Thanks!
