When I say 'run games', I mean run games like Battlefield 3 on low/medium settings.

It has good RAM and a decent graphics card; my only concern is the processor.

If we look at this website: http://processors.findthebest.com/l/844/Intel-i7-3517U

It mentions it being both slower and faster than the average processor. This makes me unsure as to whether or not the processor would cope with games.

Please help, thanks. :sol:

While BF3 is CPU heavy and runs better with a quad core, it is more GPU intensive. That particular i7 is a dual core with Hyperthreading. I looked up the 640gtm and you should be able to play on low/medium setting with a lower resolution.

#78 on the list is your processor as the laptop in the previous link has a different CPU:

So with that processor, will it be able to run games well or not?

not really.
It'll be able to run new games at low graphics settings. Basically, you would prefer to play games on a console than on that.

Hi :)

As said it WILL run games but not well....

To run them well you NEED to add another thousand quid to your budget...or better still build a GAMING PC..

All the best Brett :)
