about Opengl

will Opengl gives me better performance in terms of PC gaming like Diablo and Red Alert 2? I have a S3 TRIO V+ 1 mb video card.

and where can I download an opengl?

well..i dont think that games like that run in openGL....
and....you cant really download openGL...the video card has to have support for it...
but...if you have a card that supports it, then you will SOMETIMES get better performance in openGL....
like on my computer....
k6-2 500 with a geforce2 pro.....
i can run quake2 in openGL REALLY FAST!
but when i switch to software, it gets a bit slower...
it all depends..
to see if your card supports openGL, either download the latest drivers for your card, and try a game in openGL,
or look at the manufacturer's website..they should list the features of that card...

many games are direct3d or openGL but not both.
quake was software then openGL
q2 - opengl
q3 - directx?
UT - both
serious sam - openGL

traditionally ive had less issues with opengl games than i have had with directx.
but that my just be my luck

I play star trek voyager elite force and it uses Quake 3, and it is opengl.
