As is known, this family will include the overclocked and downclocked GeForce3 versions and an overclocked GeForce2 Pro. In other words, NVIDIA is preparing to make a really tangible attack on the graphics card market moving a faster product into every single market segment. GeForce3 is going to be replaced by GeForce3 Ti 500, GeForce2 pro – by GeForce3 Ti 200 and GeForce2 MX – by GeForce2 Ti. What is ATI, NVIDIA’s main competitor going to respond to it? It is especially interesting, since the company has kept silent since the launching of its RADEON 7500 and RADEON 8500 solutions.
As we managed to find out from different sources, ATI is ready to strike back. According to some unofficial info, ATI will announce the shipments of its new RADEON 7500 and RADEON 8500 cards on the next day after NVIDIA Titanium is to be launched, that is on October 2 (or maybe a little bit later). Moreover, as we read over here, the working frequencies of the final cards revisions will be even higher. RADEON 8500 graphics core is expected to work at 275MHz (instead of the initially claimed 250MHz) while RADEON 7500 core will support 290MHz (instead of the initially set 270MHz).
Well well now. Nvidia must be scared now. THG tested a Beta Radeon 8500 at 250mhz. Now its at 275 core / 275 memory Oh yeah i can OVERCLOCK IT TOO 300/300 with no problems. Doesn't Titanium has a slower core/memory speed too. well ATi gets those drivers working you got a killer card.
Nice Nvidia and ATi users get a Cookie.... Yummy
