When playing DVDs on my dvd rom drivethe display only seems to show the middle of the picture and not the edges. For example a image of somebodts whole face only shows the nose area. This also applies to .wav and mpegs images. These images are fine on other machines and it doesnt matter what software/programs i use. Can anybody please help me out here

Just a guess here.
But all software pograms will use the codecs, or dll files
located in your windows directory. So it would seem that you
will need to uninstall all your codecs or just the ones giving you problems. Search for Nimo codec pack 5 on the internet, download and install it, it should fix your problem. Also try uninstalling and installing the latest DirectX,

i have sine found the solution to my problem. It involved resetting my nvidia overlay mode.

haha, yes, thats also something that will affect all your software programs, duh!!
